hi all,

what is _dummy_ in sas?
is it any type of keyword in sas like _null_ , _n_ etc..

plz help me.

Hi Pavan,

I have seen some code use _dummy_ to read in extraneous characters, or move to the next legitimate field while reading in a file.

I don't think it's a sas keyword, I think it's just some folks' convention for a "throw-away" variable.
