tagratt = date issue

I am working on SAS on Linux using SAS EG or Batch, I am generating a report with ODS outputting to an excel sheet and the date in the data set is date9. but when I output using ods with or without a style tag when I filter in excel it only see it as text.

This is the line I am using   / style(column)  = [tagattr='format:mm/dd/yyyy']

In the filter dropdown it just shows each date, not like year then you can expand to month and day.

I have searched and tried all suggestions but still am not getting the filter to be for date.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Please provide a program that reproduces the issue.  Either provide data in the form of a data step or use one of the SASHELP datasets.

Make sure to apply a SAS format to it as well, ie format=mmddyyd10.;
