What are the files with the extention sas7bitm and how to migrate them from an AIX environment to LInux environment.

Thanks,

They are SAS Itemstore files, mostly used by SAS for its internal processes.

Did you store anything in these files?

If so you must have been using PROC PLM?

If you haven't then there is no need to migrate these files.

Here are some notes about migrating item stores:

http://support.sas.com/rnd/migration/planning/files/inventory_drilldown.html#itemstores

As noted by ChrisNZ, linear model item stores are created in SAS/STAT. The page above has a link to another page with instructions about migrating linear model item stores.

If the item stores contain ODS templates, the page above has a link to those instructions.

Some other kinds of item stores should not be migrated.
