how do I print data out?

what does read in data mean? does that mean imported data?

You print data out by using PROC PRINT. Example: https://documentation.sas.com/doc/en/pgmsascdc/9.4_3.4/proc/n1h2bc0rkcufgwn11accg1uiksto.htm

 

Read in data usually means taking data that is not in a SAS data set, and turning it into a SAS data set.
