how are the job opportunities for grads without prior work exp.??
On Mars, not really good. Could change within the next 50 years, though.
Seriously: where (geographically, line of business)?
in USA, for SAS Analyst . it would be great to know which SAS tools are in great demand also
I suggest getting in contact with your local SAS representative(s), as head hunters tend to ask them for probable candidates. At least that is my experience over here (Austria).
Set up accounts on LinkedIn and Xing (or whatever is preferred in your part of the world), and list your skills.
As for SAS tools, I recommend everything that is rather new, as "old-schoolers" like myself may need assistance when integrating new tools in their environment. So: Visual Analytics and LAZR, SAS and Hadoop, SAS Studio, ...
And gain knowledge that may help in supporting your SAS tasks, like operating systems, shell scripting, databases, ...
In addition to Kurt's suggestions I recommend you seek out your nearest SAS user group, get along to their meetings and network like crazy. Also check out employment agencies / consultancies that specialise in BI and SAS and do online job searches for opportunities in your vicinity.
thanks for suggestions
