Hi,

When a task is assigned by the Data Management or the team lead for SAS programming, a spec is provided, what is the importance of that and what all should be taken into consideration while making/preparing a spec??? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,

Regards,

RupaM

Wouldn't that be your company specific?

Specification the term means to specify something.  In terms of a "task" it depends on what the "task" is.  Could be importing data, in which case at minimum you need the structure - i.e. variables, types, lengths, code lists -, when the files will be sent, what file format, e.g. csv, how they will be sent, e.g. secure portal, contacts etc.

Therefore your question is way too vague to answer.
