I know some the code like the following, but if the variable is a categorical, how to sum and make a 3d pie chart?

proc gchart data=a;
  pie3d YEAR / sumvar=CNT

	proc gchart data=sashelp.class;
	pie3d sex /type=freq;
	run;quit;

Assuming you want the proportions to be the count of your categorical variable change the options, type=freq instead of sumvar=cnt.

RTM:

Add the following option to the PIE3D statement, EXPLODE='A'

proc gchart data=sashelp.class;
pie3d sex/type=freq explode='F';
run; quit;
