Hi,

I'm trying to see if  I can create a flag variable for values with indentations and no indenation?

Not yet checked but I think you want something like that

 

data want;

 set have;

   If substr(LABEL,1,1)=' ' then i=1;

  else i=0;

run;

For the indented variables, is the first character a blank? If so, you can use the SUBSTR function:
