So i've got a data set with two columns that contain addresses and i want to see if the two addresses are the same.

However sometimes the location would be like 24 Apple Drive and other times it would be 24 Apple Dr or Apple Dr 24.

I was thinking of using Regex for this but it seems like regex only looks for patterns that i explicitly code in. Is there anyway i can code this or do i have to do it by hand for the 1000 rows.

Thanks a bunch

COMPGED and or COMPLEV are some functions you can look into. In general, fuzzy matching is a pain. SAS has a product designed entirely for that which is great, if you have access.
