Hello,

 

I need help. Can you please tell me using merge statement how to fetch records common to both the datasets.

Hi,
Use the following snippet.

data final.;
merge first_data(in=a) second_data(in=b);
by common_variable1 common_variable2 ;
if a and b ;
mi_ind=compress(a||b);
run;

Take a freq of mi_ind. It should only have 11

Please use the search functionality of the forum, or look down the posts over the last day.  There have been at least five examples of this exact question!

 

Also, if you want to recieve a good answer then follow the guidance which is just below the post button = post example test data in the form of a datastep which illustrates your problem, example of what you want the output to look like, and any other logic, code you may have already have etc.  Otherwise we are just guessing.
