exporting to shapefile

Someone else manipulated a couple of shape files in sas and saved as a sas data set. Can I export the resulting sas data set into a shape file, to use in Tableau?

Or, alternatively, can tableau read the sas data set as a geography file?

SAS can import shapefiles ... but I don't know of any way to generate a shapefile from SAS.
