since my university version of SAS can't be downloaded for some reason, would the same thing print if i said to "drop _name_" right before run instead of at the data statement?

I don't know what you mean by download in this context. If you can copy and paste text in your editor you should be able to copy code from your editor and paste here in a code box opened using the {I} icon. Making images is likely lots more work.

 

One way to learn is try it. If you get an error then don't do that again.

If it works then it's okay.

I recommend trying things on very small sets as some procedures, Transpose is one of them, that can create very large sets an take some time.
