delimiter either one or the other

i sometime have a delimiter file come in as a comma delmiter one month and next month might come in as a bar (|) delimiter.  how can i code this so that i do not have ot change code every month?  I tried dlmstr=',|' on the bar(|) file and it did not work.  thank you

Just to note, you may want to get this kind of thing fixed down in a data import agreement, signed off by both parties.  Otherwise next time it could be a semi-colon, or maybe next time just a picture file.  Data transfer is always down to the agreements.
