Hi everyone,
I am trying to create a field - channel - which holds all the values below the datalines statement in the code below.
data Testing;
infile datalines;
input Channel :$30.;
cards;
C&TM With All
Rebroke
J&T Appliance
;
I am expecting the first record of channel to be 'C&TM With All', but it appeasrs truncated as in below:
What can i do to avoid this truncation?
Thanks,
Paul
Remove the colon 🙂
data Testing;
infile datalines;
input Channel $30.;
cards;
C&TM With All
Rebroke
J&T Appliance

And if you want to avoid skipping over short lines when applying @PeterClemmensen 's solution to an external file, add the truncover option to the infile statement.
