I have a file that I would like to export to my local computer from the sas server library using code before starting. Is this possible, do I have to use winscp etc?

Most likely this is not possible using sas, because the sas server has no access to your local computer.

If you are using SAS Enterprise Guide, you can use the Download Data Set task. Or the more generic Copy Files task.

Hello @Gieorgie
If it is permitted in your organization, you can create a request for your SAS Administrator / Help Desk ( as applicable ) for the transfer.
