how to convert numeric missing(.) to blank?

i tried the loop

array num(*) _numeric_;
do i= 1 to dim(num);
if num(i)=. then num(i)=;
end;

it did not work though!

Hi,
A simple
[pre]
options missing = ' ';
[/pre]

Should do the trick for reporting purposes.
