1.libname tdsas teradata TDPID=AML_DM user="%SYSGET(user)"  password="%SYSGET(PASSWD)" ;

2.LIBNAME Tdsas teradata server='P2TERDTDBV01:1521' TDPID=AML_DM USER= "%SYSGET(USER)"
   PASSWORD="%SYSGET(PASSWD)";

I tried the above approaches to connect Teradata DB to SAS, But I get the following error

ERROR: Teradata connection: MTDP: EM_NOHOST(224): name not in HOSTS file or names database.

my aim is to convert a Teradata table to a SAS dataset.

Kindly help me with a solution.

did your libname work, what does your log say. if your log shows no error you can do.

data work.sastable;

set Tdsas.teradatatable;

run;

looks like you are unable to connect. easiest way to fix ask a colleague how they connect to Teradata, even better inform a SAS admin about this and he will be able to help you with this.
