In dealing with very large volumes of Oracle data in UNIX which would be faster?

1. Use dbload and deal with the 8 byte field names?

2. Use a LIBNAME connect to Oracle?

Do they both really invoke Oracle's SQLLDR behind the scenes?

DBLOAD is the old fashioned way. I doubt it would faster than using LIBNAME together with Oracle bulk load (which is enabled by using BULKLOAD= option).
