Hi, kindly help me find a reference book, article of when to use %if %then/%else and if then /else in SAS. I think I have been confusing the two.
Any link to the article or book will be highly appreciated.
In general:
You use IF statements in data steps to test the values of variables in your datasets to see what statements in your data step you want to execute in this iteration of the data step.
You use %IF statements in macro code (or now in open code also) to test macro variable values to determine what SAS code you want to generate.
