Chris dropped a hint about an upgrade to the ZIP filename engine in the next maintenance release of SAS.

The FILENAME ZIP method is pretty good, supports ZIP files (and GZIP very soon now - in SAS 9.4 Maint 5) and member-level access.

I was wondering if there is any more information about what to expect that is available?

The scheduled release of SAS 9.4M5 is the end of September, which is in a few weeks. I'm sure you'll hear about the new features after the software is released.

@Rick_SAS is correct -- plenty of details should be available at release time.  As you know, we don't usually publish a lot of that info before the software hits the streets. But I can tell you it's a lot of stuff spread across a wide range of the SAS products.  Many small improvements/features too -- you're sure to find a handful of updates that are meaningful to you.
