Web report studio - Custom format - Group breaks not working

I have created a custom format and I am able to successfully view the formatted result in the view of the crosstab table in the web report studio. But when I add the field that is formatted with the custom format, it gives the following error:

What version of Web Report Studio

Any log files

Detailed steps to replicate the issue

Can you add a field (variable) that is not formatted

Can you add a field that is formatted with a SAS Format

It might help to provide the definition of the custom format and describe in some detail what the task attempted was.
