Varchar filtering in where condition

Hi ,

i have a column agt_cde as varchar of length 200 in NZ.

when i imported to sas by set statement, it is having same length ,informat & format.

when i try to filter the agt_cde by where condition, its showing 0 records.

so,i changed that to length to $7. using input,even though its not filtering.

can you please help me out with the reason for this.

What is "NZ", New Zealand...

If you reading through an SAS/ACCESS libname, add

options msglevel=i sastrace=',,,d' sastraceloc=saslog nostsuffix;

to your program.

try left(trimn()) as well.

Show the log with these options enabled.
