Hi,

I would like to use the SAS prep guide and the SAS University Edition. There is a pre-written code to generate the data. But the librefs don't work:

 data sasuser.admit;

yields

 ERROR: Write access to member SASUSER.ADMIT.DATA is denied.

Is there an easy way to fix that?

Thanks a lot!

You need to define a libname to a location in the shared folder and use that instead of sasuser.

Nowadays, sasuser is set read-only per default in UE and in BI server installations.

Thank you. That read-only part explains why it works to use data sets like shoe when using an out or set statement like this:

proc sort
data = sashelp.shoes
out = shoes;
by descending product sales;
run;

data shoerange;
set shoes;
format SalesRange $char12.;
run;

Maybe that'll help others, too.
