: Appreciated!  I ran it with 50 million records, and 50 additional variables, and it only took 21 minutes real time and 2 minutes 48 seconds cpu time.  I'm also running the proc transpose method, for comparison, but had to add copy statements to include the 50 extra variables.

It has been running for the past hour and a half and isn't done yet.
