Hello,

I have a sample dataset containing ID/Charge_class/Charge_amount.  Could anyone let me know how to sum up each ID's charge_amount based on the charge_class?  Thanks.

If wanting a data set I would start with

Proc summary data=have nway;
   class id charge_class;
   var charge_amount;
   output out=want Sum=;
run;

Or if a report just to read

proc tabulate data=have;
   class id charge_class;
   var charge_amount;
   table id*charge_class,
         charge_amount
   ;
run;

Well, I find that sentence to be quite unclear. What does "based on the charge class" mean?
