The following query will give counts of each country_cd.But how to get the total of all counts?

proc sql;

select count(*) from table a

  group by country_cd;

quit;

if there are 10 country_cd we will get 10 counts for each country.But how to get grand total of all 10 counts?

You can get the the total counts by not using the GROUP BY clause:

proc sql;

     select count(*) from table a;

quit;
