I get a message saying "This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot - please usa a kernel appropriate for your CPU", what should I do?

I haven't tried this yet, but you could probably spin up an amazon instance and run it off there if you have no other choice.
May cost a bit though.
