Hi,

I have a dataset

ID   Days

1     -78

1     130

2    -98

2   -89

2    -456

3   -57

3     3

I want to select the nearest to the "0" value from the group of ID.

ID     Days

1       -78

2       -89

3         3

With SQL you could do:

proc sql;
select *
from mydata
group by id
having abs(days) = min(abs(days));
quit;
