Hi all, we users when executing scripts are getting the below errors. I have never encountered these errors. Can anyone point me in the right direction. It seem like the users are getting this with any IMPORT or EXPORT of Excel generated files. Thanks.
ERROR: Connect: Class not registered
ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.
ERROR: Connection Failed. See log for details.
NOTE: The SAS System stopped processing this step because of errors.
There are many results when searching for this error such as:
https://support.sas.com/kb/63/750
https://support.sas.com/kb/43/933.html
What have you tried?
Also pasting a just bit of log and no code is not helping us help you.
Provide all the information please, including what you have tried.
Hmm. Interesting. Which version of SAS are you using? SAS 9.4 M6? M7? Or ?
In order to help, I would need to see:
1. The SAS code that you are executing.
2. The full log where the error occurs, not just the log itself. When in doubt, include more of the log. I need to see everything in the log leading up to the errors, particularly if there are warnings or errors that occurred earlier in the log.
By the way, the errors appear to be associated with a Libname, so please make sure to include the section of SAS code around the Libname(s) that are failing and the log that results from the same Libname(s).
QUESTIONS: Have you migrated to a new server lately? Have you upgraded SAS lately, for example from SAS 9.4 M5 to SAS 9.4 M6 or anything like that? Has your version of MS Office changed recently? Has your Server O/S been upgraded or changed recently?
When I've seen errors like this in the past, it's usually because something has been upgraded or there's been some kind of migration to a new environment.

Thanks much for the info and it's been resolved. Correct with the upgrade of something. Seems like they did something with Microsoft office tools.
OK, that makes sense. That's why I was asking if anything had changed with the environment. Turns out I was right. 🙂
