How do I create SAS output in DITA XML format ?

We are currently exploring the possibilities to deliver output in the DITA XML format. Today we are using SAS proc report to create output tables via ODS using the standard XML tagging - however 'standard' XML is not usable in our current case. The reason for starting the DITA XML journey is that DITA XML is the standard of the interface to a new system been implemented, and we need to deliver some of our outputs to this interface.

Following this, we are looking for some experience with supplying output in the DITA XML format using SAS ? Hoping that some one in here can share some learnings/knowledge, giving us a little guidance to start out in the right direction...

Thank you in advance
