SAS X Command won't produce log file on linux server

Not by default but if you are able to use the or let use the cgroup (posted before) you can achieve that at the OS/Linux level.

That one is designed for load-balancing at the moment of run-time.  The scheduling approach to run it lineair (not parallel) is the other.

Jared, The use of the Xcmd with SAS 9.3 on your local machine is by default open again.  On the server side SAS is hiding behind you local platform admin and that guy is hiding behind SAS. The normal issue is that by security policies user are not allowed to access data (command-line) on a machine neither they are allowed to browse over datasets (windows explorer). That for analysts exploring data that is important functionality (end user computing) should be explained first.

Bypassing that has lead to that weird catch22 situation and even more weird technical solutions in trying to circumvent that. Not good for everyone involved, also not good for SAS.
