Our SAS Admin has upped the timeout for SAS Studio to 4 hours, but it continues to timeout on me in less than 2 hours. I'm accessing Viya over a VPN connection. Does anyone have experience with this? How can this be resolved? It's causing me to lose work repeatedly. Very frustrating.

Timeouts, caused by closed network connections, can happen for a variety of reasons. Is the timeout period always the same? That could point to a network or server firewall rule. Are you the only SAS user affected or are there others? This is really a problem for your SAS administrator to resolve. If a SAS Studio setting doesn't help then your administrator needs to engage with your IT folks to look at the other possible causes as already explained.

Thanks, it is only happening to me. The timeout is not consistent, sometimes 30 minutes sometimes 1 1/2 hours. I figured it was something for our SAS admin but wanted to confirm there's nothing simple that we were missing.

Since it is only happening to you then your network connections need to be monitored by a network monitoring tool to find the events causing the problem. If you are working remotely via VPN there could be dropouts in your internet connection causing the problem.
