Hi, all.

I have a sas dataset which contains utf-8 in its variable value. I have to covert it to xpt V5 format. However, when I used SAS Universal Viewer to check xpt file, it seems that the value displayed in decoding format, "wlatin-1”. Therefore, I want to know whether it is possible to change setting or have alternative method for me to view xpt file in decoding format, utf-8. Thanks.

How did you create the transport file?

I didn't know that the V5 format supported UTF-8, that's good to know.

As for the SAS viewer, it came before UTF-8 was popular and was left there I think.
