question:
Because when you open SAS Enterprise Guide 4.3> Servers> SASApp folders appear:
. Libraries
. Files
and to open the Microsoft Office> Excel> SAS> SAS Data> Servers> SASApp appear
folders:
. MAPS
. SASHELP
. SASUSER
. STP Samples
. WORK
questions:
1 - because the folders that appear in the SAS 4.3 and MS Office Excel are different?
2 - is to match the folders open in Excel with those opened in SAS 4.3?
Sincerely,
A novice in Sas
Flávio Geraldo
Under Libraries in your first one does it match what you see in Excel?
What I see in libraries Excel librareis and different from what I see in SAS:
Below I see the libraries in SAS:
Servers
- SASApp
- Libraries
+ EU
+ MAPS
+ SASHELP
+ SASUSER
+ STP Samples
+ WORK
+ Files
Sincerely,
Flavio,
Perhaps difficult to explain as you are probably commonly used to see one computer / one environment your Windows desktop.
With Eguide (and AMO) you get access to three additional environments.
The difference between AMO and Eguide should be minimal when using the same credentials/startup.
1/ Libraries.
That are all type of tables. If you have used the old DMS approach you will miss the SAS-catalogs.
What is delivered off this depends on you (host/dbms) authorized access to these tables.
SASUSER is normally missing (hidden . read-only) with Eguide.
The differences AMO/Eguide could be indicating you have used a different key or startup code
2/ Files.
This is very similar to the Windows explorer but is running at the server side.
What is delivered off this depends on you (server side) authorized access and the home - starting point (MyDocuments) on the server.
Be amazed you can drag and drap files from windows explorer to this part in Eguide. A not very visible with menus upload feature.
3/ SAS metadatafolders
This an other dedicated area with a similar lay-out of folders/maps. You could save your EG projects there (save as select server) in the same way as with windows-desktop.
Finding a file/librarie in this with a helpfull naming convention could help to see what is happening (use properties if available)
