In case you haven’t heard yet, the in-person conference has been cancelled and will be replaced by a virtual conference...

Conference in DC Canceled; Event Goes Virtual

Dear Thomas,

You are the heart of SAS® Global Forum. And nothing replaces the energy you get from attending this one-of-a-kind event. Whether this is your first time or if you’ve attended many times, this conference really feels like a family reunion.

However, your safety and well-being are paramount to us. After careful consideration of the evolving concerns around COVID-19, we’ve made the very difficult decision to cancel the in-person conference in DC.

We recognize this presents some inconveniences to you. The good news? We are working to finalize the details and bring you great presentations and sessions – just virtually. We know you have questions, so we’ve put together this FAQ.

We look forward to hosting you virtually for SAS Global Forum. Please keep an eye out for additional information.

Let's face it: GF 2020 is toast. No series of webinars or web-exes can replace this atmosphere of being THERE that makes this event so special. Give the presenters (like me) an opportunity to actually perform what they've been working on so hard, next year in LV. And let the big shows have the live audience they deserve. Don't make Mr. Goodnight do his talk to a camera in his office, when he should have five thousand people there, representing his achievements.

CoVid19 already wrecked it for us all, don't add insult to injury.

All of which leads one to also wonder what will happen to the various regional conferences.

Sigh.
