Hi SAS Experts,
We are running SAS right now only on the clients with EG, not SAS Sever. is it still possible
to create a HTML link saying "Click here to open in MS Excel" to open the SAS HTML result that is created in EG in MS Excel?
Or do we need for that a running SAS Workspace Server and STP.
Thanks
Phil
You are creating a Html-file, that is the intermediate dataflow. Doesn't matter what tool/server you are using. When running local sas-pc the only question is why would you do that: storing a file (like a webserver) and than opening in excel?

Hi Jaap,
Thanks for your response. Our environment has not got a running SAS Server yet. That will take a few more months but I want to develop
to use the programs ultimately so they dont run locally.
Bye
A you are getting SAS on a Server ask the following:
- Are they implementing AMO (Addin Microsoft Office) it will integrate EXCEL (also Outlook) with SAS
- Is the PC-files server on a windows machine getting implemented or will SAS run on a Windows server
in bot cases there is direct interface to the Windows Ad environment that can be isolated to machines or opened to the AD-domain
- When going to run on a Unix(Linux) server is there the option of mail and XLSX creation.
This will make it possible even when not having AMO or pc-fileserver or a SAS windows server to send/email xslx files.
- When the intended usage is Eguide driven you have the send-to buttons (sending data to ....)
- When the intended usage is SAS-VA there will be no Excel usage necessary it is replacing it all.
What will be there?
Hi Jaap,
We are not using SAS-VA. The ultimate usage is via Stored Process Web Application. The receive an email is not a user requirement.
The SAS Server will be running on a UNIX environment.
Bye
Than your closest approach will be generating html ODS output save that locally and access it with a browser.
