Hi,

 

I am trying to remove the special symbols found on foreign names without removing the letter it is associated with such as:

 

É, Ê, Ç

 

The file I have has over 2 million records so I do not know exactly all the different types of symbols that can be found on the customer's names.

 

So far, I have been using the transwrd function to replace the ones I know individually.

 

Have also tried Compress without success as it removes the letter as well.

 

Surely, there must be a more efficient way of doing this.

 

I am using SAS Enterprise Guide 7.13.
