Hi,

I submit this code:

%let servname=L23456789;

options comamid=tcp;

signon &servname.;

and get this error:

ERROR: Remote session ID exceeds maximum length of 8; please respecify or use a macro variable

       for longer values.

But I used a macro variable.

Thanks,

John

Put the servername in a macro variable, and use that in the signon statement:

%let serv=servername.domain.com;
signon serv;

Note that no ampersand is used in the signon statement.

Try this. No ampersand is needed when referencing the servname macro variable.

%let servname=L23456789;
options comamid=tcp remote = servname;
signon;
