Hello

I am trying to read a txt file into SAS using the infile statement (w/ missover). I didn't get any error messages, but I got the following note in the log: NOTE: Invalid data for XYZ (numeric)  in line 66 180-183 for values that are missing. Is there any way I can tell SAS to ignore missing values? I checked the imported data and it looked fine. Also I noticed that  I only got the message for the variable XYZ but not the other variables that also have missing values. Can anyone help me understand what's going on?

Thank you,

Typically that error message is accompanied by a display of the input data line and the values of all the variables when this occurs in reading the data.

It might help to paste the entire example starting with the line that shows the "ruler" before the data. Paste into a code box opened using the forum's {I} menu icon to preserve formatting of the message as the message windows here will remove spaces making the diagnosis harder.

The text of the program as well would be a good idea, also pasted in a code box.
