Hello Experts,

My data in column CODE_P is :

Z56

Z98

Z9

B1

JK.

I would like to have only the data with Z. How to write this condition with Prxmatch function please (to hold all data starting with Z) ?

My actual code is :

	if prxmatch("m/Z/oi",CODE_P)>0 then do;

This code works well, but I would like to add the condition "on first position". Thank you !

Hello @SASdevAnneMarie,

Insert the "^" sign before the "Z":

if prxmatch("m/^Z/oi",CODE_P)>0 then do;

But for a simple criterion like this I would rather avoid the slow PRX functions and use something like

if upcase(code_p)=:'Z' then do;
