Hi:

  There have been lots of previous postings about using the LINE statement in a COMPUTE block. In addition this paper https://support.sas.com/resources/papers/proceedings17/SAS0431-2017.pdf has multiple examples of BREAK processing. Many  placement possibilities of a COMPUTE block are shown on page 9.
