I don't know if this is the right category, I don't see any category where this really fits

I have had this problem for years, and I have never had a solution. In the local SAS Help, there is a Favorites tab. I can set up four favorites, and they remain in place every time I open SAS Help. If I add a fifth favorite, it remains for the duration of time that the application is open. When I close SAS Help and reopen it at a later time, the first four are there, the fifth NEVER shows up. Thus, I can never have more than 4 items in Favorites.

What is the solution?

What version of SAS are you using? According to http://support.sas.com/kb/11/131.html, Help and Documentation favourites in SAS 9 are stored in the user's hh.dat file. This file can become corrupted and one solution suggested in support forums is to delete it.

There may also be settings to control the number of history entries that appear in the Help and Documentation Favourites list, which you may be able to access depending on how you are set up (administrators may also control this).

Thanks, Fugue. I deleted the existing hh.dat file, and now the problem seems to be gone. Let's hope it doesn't come back.
