You can start learning SAS without any prior knowledge on any other programming language. Trust me SAS is my first language I learned and felt very comfortable learning and exploring and enjoying learning. You just need to know some terminology like variables, procedures, functions ,so on...which you will be knowing one you start exploring.

Thanks,

I guess that any programming language that is the first to learn is a challenge. But yeah, nothing stops base SAS from being the first.
But I think that getting a basic understanding of data structures is good way to prepare before you dive in.

And, when searching courses at SAS web site, each training has a prerequisite tab. For programming 1:

"Before attending this course, you should have experience using computer software. Specifically, you should be able to understand file structures and system commands on your operating systems
access data files on your operating systems."
