I'm running some analyses using procsurvey logistic, with a clustering variable to adjust for whether respondents are part of the same family (some are twins/siblings). Why does the sample size decrease when using the procsurvey command, and is there a minimum sample size that should be met when using the proc survey commands? Thanks in advance.
You would have to show us the output you are using that show different "sample size" and likely the log from both calls to the procedure to have a chance to address what you are seeing.
Typically the single most likely cause of reduced sample size using the same data set is to place something in the model statement that has missing values. By default all observations with missing values for any of the variables on the model, cluster or strata statements are not used and would report fewer observations used. So if you added code to use a cluster variable and any records are have missing values for the cluster variable they would be excluded.
Could you please modify the title of your ORIGINAL post? There is no PROC SURVEY, and the original post should have
PROC SURVEYLOGISTIC question
as the title
Thanks
