I'm curious whether SAS Multi-Insert technology actually invokes something similar to PL/SQL "forall" inserts. The speed is very similar on systems that I'm using. Both are almost the same speed assql*loader

In my mind, there are some situations when bulkload is faster, especially for really large loads.

We have found that "forall" out performs bulkload in our situation. We ended up making Oracle "forall" Procedures to call from SAS.
