Hi,

For  SAS DI ETL job, we get the data from a source system flat file. The requirement is that the numeric columns from the flat file should be parsed and validated by SAS DI. IF found valid, then the numeric column should be loaded to the target table.

We tried following functions to validate if the data from source file is numeric, but the level of validation achieved through these functions are some how incomplete.

ANYALNUM

ANYALPHA

ANYDIGIT

lengthn(scan)

So I just want to know if we have any built in functions are available in SAS DI for validating if the file column from the data source is numeric or not. The function should validate both the decimal and mantissa part of the numeric field.

A sample code snippet would be very helpful. Thanks much!!

Not very "clean", but works: input()...
