Macbook OS Sierra 10.12.3 error: "A shared folder named "myfolders" was not found

I sorted the problem out 🙂 my folders were under ‘My Documents’ , which I realized is technically now an iCloud folder. I moved it to my local disc and problem solved! Thanks for your input

I also noticed that my SAS says that it is a Linux version, despite having downloaded the OSX version. Is that normal, or is there possibly a bug on the website when I downloaded the software?

Yes. this is normal. SAS UE is always running in a virtual linux installation - that's why you need VirtualBox.
