MIS = Management Information System. The definition of such is found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Management_information_system

So they are looking for someone who can work in development and maintenance of such a system, using SAS as the underlying framework.

You cannot "learn MIS reports". One has to be (very) proficient in the tools used, so that one can meet the demands of the decision makers.

There is no "one" MIS. Every organization has their own needs, and builds on their own data sources, and delivers information in their preferred way.

Which tools are used for MIS SAS developers apart from SAS EG
SASKiwi
PROC Star

That depends on what the MIS is used for. There is no such thing as a "one size fits all" MIS.

However you would need software for:

  • reading the data required (SAS/ACCESS products, Base SAS)
  • manipulating and transforming data (Base SAS)
  • storing the required data (Base SAS, other vendors databases)
  • analysing and reporting on the data (Base SAS, SAS/STAT, SAS Visual Analytics)

I'm sure you can think of other SAS products that fit into the above categories.

Anything that is needed for the particular information needs. But the most important tool of a developer is the one between the ears.
