I’ve used indexes in the past for querying data but never attempted them for pivoting.  Would anyone know if indexes or any other methods of speeding up these pivots?

What are you defining as a pivot and how does Excel come into play here?

Are you referring to tabulate/report options or are you using the Excel Add In or something else? We need more details.

This is a pivot table in Excel which uses the SAS MS add-in to reference datasets from our SAS grid.
