Hi,

I am using the following code

filename flname dde "winword|C:\Users\\Desktop\Macro Test\mu166-2011-011 statistical analysis plan_final.docx!listings"

where I am getting an error:

ERROR: Physical file does not exist, winword|C:\Users\\Desktop\Macro Test\mu166-2011-011 statistical analysis plan_final.docx!listings.

But when I change file name to simply 'C:\Users\\Desktop\Macro Test\MU SAP.docx!listings' then it is working fine and no error.

It would be greatly helpful if someone can help me to resolve this issue.

Thank You.

Referencing the DDE External File

SAS(R) 9.3 Companion for Windows

The syntax shown for DDE in the Windows companion is:

filename test dde 'winword|"c:\temp\testdde.doc"  !NUMBER' notab;

Notice the double quotes around the filename inside the single quotes enclosing the DDE triplet.
